Are you trying to make sense of a difficult or upsetting situation? Do you need to talk to someone? Are you feeling depressed or stressed? Counselling and Psychotherapy can help you understand what's happening to you and help you to move on.
Yorkshire Counselling offers Counselling and Psychotherapy with Debbie Partington, counsellor and psychotherapist. Debbie works with individuals who self-refer, and also with referrals from employers, insurance companies and others.
Life throws lots of challenges at us, including relationship issues, divorce, anxiety, stress in the workplace, health problems, family issues, abuse, bereavement and loss of other kinds too.
With offices in central Doncaster, we provide counselling and psychotherapy for people aged 18 and over. We work to help you understand how you are feeling and how this has an impact on your life, so that you can find a better way forward for yourself. Debbie sees individuals only but can also arrange couples counselling with her associate counsellor Sue, who is available during the day and evenings.
Offering you a style that is warm, empathic and accepting, we provide a supportive and constructive space for you to explore the difficulties or challenges you may be experiencing. Our approach is Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling which is based in Humanistic Therapies, and Existential Therapy.
As well as helping you to understand and come to terms with depression or anxiety, difficult past or present events or complicated feelings, therapy can support you to cope with the effects of these experiences. Family and relationship issues often bring clients to counselling. We will work together to empower and strengthen your emotional resilience, in order to help you reconcile the past and move forward positively with your life. Sessions cost £50.00 for 50 minutes.
Informed by having extensive experience in running business, and understanding how important it is to employers to support and retain experienced staff, we also offer counselling to business, supporting both employers and employees with workplace issues, and emotional issues that may be affecting their work. Working with employees, it is likely that an agreed number of sessions of counselling may be offered, and any extension of this would be with the employers agreement. Sessions last for 50 minutes and are charged at £55.00 per session.
Clinical Supervision: I hold a Level 7 Post Graduate Certificate in Counselling Supervision from York St John University, and sees both qualified counsellors/psychotherapists and therapists in training. Counselling Supervision costs £50.00 per hour. Presently I have one concession for students available.
Non-clinical Supervision: I also provide non-clinical supervison for employees working in helping/supportive environments. Individual sessions cost £55 per hour and group sessions (between 2 and 4 people), cost £100 per hour.
Appointment times: I offer appointments during office hours from Tuesday to Friday. Due to the pandemic I am offering remote appointments only presently.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
