Debbie Cornthwaite (Counsellor) Adv Dip. MNCS
With a passion for listening and always being the 'Agony Aunt' of the district, I decided it was time to follow my dreams and become a qualified Counsellor. With the children off my hands and with a lifetime of experiences (not all good), I embarked on my new challenge. I have never looked back. As long as I can remember, I have always been fascinated by people and their behaviour, why do we say and do the things we say and do?
Its now my mission to provide a safe and comfortable space for you, in order for me to listen to you without judgement, in the hope that I can help you to overcome the difficulties facing you. Sometimes, just being able to offload to someone 'neutral' who can listen in confidence is a starting point. A problem shared is a problem halved! I recognise that everyone is different and 'one size' doesn't fit all, therefore different approaches to your therapy are sometimes necessary in order to find out what is going to work for you.
You are not alone. Everyone in their lives encounter problems, some current and others that have been present since childhood. We could all benefit from having some counselling, unfortunately, most of us don't. The thought of going for counselling can come with its own fears. Understandably, the cost of counselling also features but can we afford not to? Living with phobia's, bad memories, anxieties and traumatic experience's, comes at a high price too!
The first step of any journey is the hardest, find the courage and take it. I provide a friendly service with no obligation.
My counselling room is at Seale Hayne near Newton Abbot, I try to accommodate everyone, regardless of their circumstances, providing evening and weekend appointments if necessary.
I am a member of the National Counselling Society and fully insured.
Please e-mail or call me for any further information? I look forward to helping you.
