About me

I am an experienced Accredited Registered Counsellor who is qualified and able to work with a vast variety of different issues; such as relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, stress and bereavement. I was a Specialist Palliative Care Counsellor and worked within a hospice for 11 years and I am experienced in working with cancer, health issues and loss.

I was a Consultant Counsellor at a local private hospital within the Psychological Medicine Department for 2 years where I saw clients with a variety of different issues . I am registered as a Healthcare Provider with many private healthcare insurers.

I am an Affiliated Counsellor for an agency offering counselling to adults who were sexually abused as children through the sporting world.

I offer one-to-one counselling sessions with adults and young people. I have a private practice, which I run from my home; this enables me to be able to provide my clients with a flexible, professional, quality counselling experience. My practice is based in a quiet and tranquil setting; it is easy to access and there is ample parking.

I am also a qualified Accredited Clinical Hypnotherapist and, where appropriate, can use hypnotherapy to underpin my counselling work. I am registered with The General Hypnotherapy Register.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
