Debbie Cole B.Ed. (Hons) Dip Couns (MBACP)
You have already taken your first bold step by looking at this counselling directory, acknowledging that things in your life aren't right, either at home or in your workplace, and you are looking for help to cope through these difficult times.
Maybe the current COVID-19 pandemic has catapulted you into a dark and uncomfortable place where you realise that work, relationships with significant others or how you feel about yourself could be a lot better. I can help you explore these emerging feelings either at my office or if you prefer via Skype.
Now that lockdown has ended, I have resumed face to face therapy in my counselling office. I have conducted a thorough risk assessment and have put procedures in place to keep us both safe.
My counselling is confidential, professional, non-judgmental, weekly therapy which will enable you to understand yourself and the causes of painful feelings and anxieties. The process enables you to work through your feelings, move on from painful issues and assist in an understanding of your relationship with yourself and others. This knowledge can empower you to make positive changes to your life and move on to experience more fulfilling relationships.
As well as individual work I also offer couples counselling in a structured, supportive environment; as a skilled third party I can help you both to explore the problems and conflicts in your primary relationship which may be deeply affecting your health and happiness. My couples work is indescriminate regardless of your sexual orientation. My training also encompasses working with couples where one person may have identified as trans after the onset of the relationship.
I have a private practice in Ferndown; offering counselling to both adults and young people on a wide range of concerns including; relationship issues, general anxiety disorder, depression including manic depression, loneliness, mental health difficulties, family and child issues, addiction, abuse, trauma and PTSD. After an initial consultation, counselling will be offered on a long- or short-term basis, depending on your needs. I have considerable success in helping to overcome anxiety, lift depression, relieve stress, cope with traumas; including bereavement, abuse and accidents, manage anger, increase self-esteem and improve relationships.
I would very much like to help you with the difficulties that may have brought you to my page on this website. As counselling is a process of good communication please communicate any issues or queries you may have so that we may explore possible solutions. To book an appointment or to ask further questions either email me or phone my mobile, if I am unable to answer please leave a message and I will return your call as soon as I am able. (My contact details are shown above).

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
