About me

Hi, I'm David, I trained as a Transactional Analysis Psychotherapeutic Counsellor.

I never underestimate the courage needed to take to that first step to explore what isn't working for you. My role is to support you in what is troubling you or making life feel challenging. I work in the here and now as well as looking back at early life experiences and how they may have impacted on how you lead your life now.

My approach (TA) is a very helpful model to help explore why and how we feel about ourselves and our life experiences. It is a modality that is easy to share with clients. That said, I do not bring theory into the room. The most important thing is for us to establish a comfortable and relaxed relationship so that you can feel confident and safe enough to be able to bring your thinking into the room.

Often, just hearing your thoughts instead of thinking about them can make a huge difference, and also can make you feel less burdened by your thoughts, therefore feeling lighter with a sense of relief and release. I offer a confidential, non-judgemental and safe counselling setting. I work with both individual clients and couples.

Getting started:

The first step can feel daunting. At the same time you are taking control and doing something for yourself - if you decide you would like to see me, here is what to do.

I don't mind if you email me or call me. I offer an initial session so that we can meet, and in that first meeting, you will see the room in which we would work. We will talk about what brings you to counselling and what you hope to get from the process.

You will also have the chance to ask me questions, for example, about how I work. There is no commitment beyond that initial session, however if you feel that the initial session works for you then we would agree to work together. Counselling sessions are weekly and at the same time each week.

Any questions at all, please do get in touch.
