About me

I offer both short term counselling and also open-ended therapy online. I have a broad background of experience working with a range of clients in agency and charity settings and 10 years in private practice.

I offer a safe, non judgmental, confidential space for you to explore issues that are perhaps causing depression, anxiety, emotional or psychological pain. We would work together to allow you to move forward.

My early training was in Gestalt therapy which has a particular focus on the present, and encourages you to speak from the here and now. I also work with other psychotherapeutic approaches. Ultimately the approach is tailored to your needs and unique history.

As well as extensive experience working with adult individuals with a broad range of issues including anxiety, depression and relationship issues. I have particular experience working with addiction, psychosexual problems, sexuality and identity and with adult survivors of abuse.

Training, qualifications & experience

After 4 years of training, I qualified at the Metanoia Institute in Gestalt Psychotherapeutic Counselling.

I then completed a 2 year postgraduate psychosexual and relationship therapy training.

I am a member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy) and the NCIP (National Council of Integrative Psychotherapists).

I adhere to the BACP code of Ethics.

As with any discipline focused on growth, I continue to attend trainings in the field of psychotherapy, which greater informs my work.

At present I am researching/studying the impact of family enmeshment and the impact on Individuation, both in a psychological and Jungian sense. I consult with other therapists and teachers internationally, to support this study.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
