About me

Counselling is for everyone.  I practice as both Counsellor and Psychotherapist using what is generally known as an integrative model combining elements of both Person-Centred, Gestalt and Psychodynamic theory and practice.

I work with clients on a range of issues that have been affecting their quality of life, including anxiety, depression, addictions, relationship issues, anger management, work related problems and a range of other challenges that life has presented to them.

I have a specialist training in couples counselling from the Centre for Relational Couples Therapy.

I provide confidential discrete support for Celebrity and High Profile individuals and their families.

I provide support for all those in need and provide affordable counselling for the low and unwaged through concessionary rates.  Do give me a call on 07702155267 for an informal chat.

My website (www.cheltenhamcounsellor.co.uk) illustrates some of the more common issues that arise during my work including anxiety and generalised anxiety disorder, depression and relationship issues.  I have worked with a wide variety of problems that, in addition, include, family issues, abuse, affairs and betrayals, separation and divorce, anger management, bereavement, low self esteem, attachment disorder and other emotional challenges which can also be referred to on my website.

My work is based on forming a close professional therapeutic relationship with you from which to explore whatever it is that is affecting your quality of life.  This relationship is based upon a foundation of mutual trust from which you can explore your life past and present. My hope is that together we shall enable you to become the person you truly want, and were born, to be.

I have a quiet discrete counselling room in Cheltenham with parking and close to bus routes which can be reached within 35 minutes, by car, from most parts of Gloucestershire including Gloucester, Cheltenham, Stroud, Newent, Tewkesbury, Winchcombe, and Cirencester.

Counselling is for everyone. I believe in that truth and in the neurobiological, proven, effectiveness of the power of the therapeutic relationship to enhance the quality of a life and relationships.

I have a level 5 diploma in Counselling from the University of Gloucestershire.  I have qualified and subsequently practiced with Network Counselling and Training before starting my own practice in Leckhampton Cheltenham.

I am an accredited member of the National Counselling Society.

I am a Couples Counsellor and trained and qualified through the Centre for Relational Couples Therapy in Bath.

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
