Deciding to seek support is often the most difficult and courageous first step to take on the road to recovery. This journey can often feel lonely, with those closest to you not always able to understand and offer the support you need.
There may be many reasons why you are considering therapy and together we will work towards thinking about what you want to gain from our time. We will adopt an approach that is tailored to meet your individual needs, whilst recognising and refining your existing strengths.
You may have a particular problem (or range of problems) that you wish to address or you may want to develop a greater awareness and understanding of your lived experiences. I can assist you in working towards your goals.
I am a chartered counselling psychologist, trained to provide psychological assessments and therapy to individuals who require support in overcoming emotional and psychological difficulties. I also provide support for individuals who would like to focus on personal development. I adopt an integrative approach to therapy, which means I incorporate a range of psychotherapeutic approaches within my practice. My training and experience also enables me to work flexibly and creatively using a variety of assessments, theories and models of practice that fit with your presenting concerns.
Recognising and taking these first steps to change can be daunting which is why I recommend that our initial contact is used so you to ask questions to see whether us working together is a right fit for you as our working partnership will form the foundations of our therapeutic relationship together. This will also provide us with an opportunity to discuss what to expect if we decide to work together.
