Darren Wickings MBACP (Registered)
Hello and thank you for taking the time to view my profile. There may be lots of reasons for seeking Counselling and I can understand that you may have many questions about what Counselling can offer. In my experience I believe Counselling to be a rewarding journey of self discovery and personal empowerment. I believe there is always so much to learn and uncover about ourselves and speaking with a Counsellor can help to uncover many hidden thoughts and feelings that may be blocking or hindering you in your path.
I can offer a safe, confidential space and a warm, empathetic, non judgemental approach. I describe my therapy as integrative therapy with a person centred core. I believe that a strong working relationship with my clients where they can truly be heard and respected to be a powerful healing tool.
I am also a qualified EFT practitioner. EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Techniques and is a non invasive meridian energy healing modality. EFT is a mixture of physical stimulation of acupressure points and targeted wording. It is basically a way of removing anxiety and trauma from our subconscious.
I sometimes also use strategies such as mindfulness, meditation and other calming activities and have experience with creative tools such as sand tray and object work.
I have worked with many issues such as abuse, bereavement, anxiety, depression, self esteem, anger, post traumatic stress disorder, autism and ADHD.
I offer Counselling to adults 18 years and up in my private upstairs office. Sessions are 50 mins and I can work short or long term with you.
I am a registered member of the BACP and adhere to their ethical framework.
