About me

Are you looking to make positive changes in your life? Are you wondering how to achieve this? Seeking a therapist who you feel at ease with, will be the first positive step towards making this change.

Our first appointment will be an opportunity for us to meet and ask any questions we each may have, this then helps with the decision of possibly moving forward into therapy.

I am more than happy to work with you as an individual or as a couple for relationship therapy.

In this uncertain time of Coronavirus, it is important to reach out to access support. You may be isolated, feeling concerned and anxious, or this may be exacerbating underlying difficulties you have been struggling with for some time.

With the ever changing demands and increasing needs of our current climate, I am pleased to be able to provide Online (Zoom) or Telephone Therapy.
Therefore, if you have a busy schedule or are in a different timezone, a consultation online or over the telephone allows you flexibility and effective use of your time without having to commute.

What I am able to offer to you is a confidential, safe space where you have the opportunity to explore your important issues, in your own way and at your own pace. Whatever the personal challenge you are facing, I will be here to listen to you.

I have worked successfully with many clients, facing issues such as;

Anxiety, Depression, Stress, Grief, Isolation, Sadness

Love, Relationship, Affairs, Betrayal and Sexuality.

My aim is to work with you, as you develop your self-awareness and reconnect with your belief in yourself; discovering new positive ways of being ‘you’ and making choices in your life, which you are happy and comfortable with.

My Background and Counselling Experience

I am an experienced Psychotherapist, Life Coach and a Registered member of the BACP.  The BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling & Psychotherapy guides my practice. I attend regular and on-going supervision/consultative support for my work (in accordance with professional requirements) and to ensure that I am working with you to the very best of my ability. I have also completed the BACP certificate of proficiency.

Alongside my counselling work, I am also a Life Coach and a Lecturer.

For over 20 years, I have worked in a variety of job roles offering pastoral and counselling support to individuals and groups.

It will be my pleasure, to answer any questions you may have, via whichever method of communication you choose.  My contact details are at the top and bottom of this page. I understand how difficult this first step to therapy might be, what I can promise you, is that you will receive a warm welcome into my practice.

I have always been interested in the field of psychotherapy and it was in my mid-20's that I started training as a Counsellor.

Level 7 Postgraduate Diploma in Life Coaching (Achievement Specialists)

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accessibility

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.

Wheelchair user access

Unfortunately, my home office does not have wheelchair access, as there are two steps to enter. However, if you require counselling and have additional accessibility needs, I am happy to a) explore the option of a home visit or b) hire a suitable room.
