About me

With 16 years of experience, I have worked with clients presenting with a wide range of issues. My specialist areas include:

  • couples/relationship counselling
  • adult ADHD
  • individuals/couples supporting family members with ADHD;
  • positive psychology (supporting individuals to make positive changes in their lives)

Are you looking to make positive changes in your life? Are you wondering how to achieve this? Seeking a therapist, who you feel at ease with, is the first positive step towards making this change.

Our first appointment will be an opportunity for us to meet and ask any questions we each may have, this helps with the decision of possibly moving forward into therapy.

I offer individual and couples counselling.

I provide Online (Zoom), so if you have a busy schedule or are in a different time zone, online sessions will allow you flexibility and offers the ability to engage with therapy without having to commute.

I am able to offer to you a confidential, safe space where you have the opportunity to explore your issues/concerns, in a way that suits you and at your own pace. Whatever the personal challenge you are facing, I am here to listen and support you during our work together.

I have worked successfully with many clients, focusing on a wide range of topics, including:

Relationship issues, neurodiversity (ADHD/ASD), stress, burnout, anxiety, depression, grief/bereavement, isolation, and sexuality.

I specialise in supporting individuals, couples, and parents who are dealing with ADHD, whether they have received a diagnosis themselves or are supporting a family member with ADHD.

My aim is to work with you on developing self-awareness and coping skills; discovering new positive ways of being ‘you’ and making choices in your life, which you are happy and comfortable with.

My Background and Counselling Experience

I am an experienced Psychotherapist, Life Coach and Supervisor, and an Accredited member of the BACP. The BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling & Psychotherapy guides my practice. I attend regular and ongoing supervision/consultative support for my work (in accordance with professional requirements) and to ensure that I am working with you to the very best of my ability. I have also completed the BACP certificate of proficiency.

Alongside my counselling work, I am also a Life Coach, Lecturer and a final year Masters student (Masters in Applied Positive Psychology).

For over 25 years, I have worked in a variety of job roles offering pastoral and counselling support to individuals and groups.

It will be my pleasure, to answer any questions you may have, via whichever method of communication you choose. My contact details are at the top and bottom of this page. I understand how difficult this first step to therapy might; however, all individuals I work with are will receive a warm welcome into my practice.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
