About me

I specialise in supporting women and mothers to break free from the emotional damage of past abusive relationships by exploring the root causes, often linked to attachment and early patterns, so they can stop repeating painful cycles, consciously create a healthier future, and finally find their shine.

Are you a woman or mum feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or weighed down by the impact of past trauma? Maybe you’re recovering from an abusive relationship, childhood wounds, or dealing with the emotional toll of raising children – possibly alongside a difficult or abusive ex.

Many of the women I work with feel disconnected from who they once were – exhausted, stuck in cycles of self-doubt, low self-worth, or struggling to manage anxiety or depression. If any of this feels familiar, please know: you’re not alone, and healing is possible.

How I Can Help

I offer a safe, supportive and non-judgemental space to explore what’s really going on beneath the surface. My sessions are trauma-informed and grounded in psychodynamic theory, helping you:

☀️ Heal emotional wounds from the past

☀️ Understand and manage anxiety or depression

☀️ Reconnect with your identity beyond the roles you play

☀️ Break free from unhealthy or abusive relationship patterns

☀️ Build self-worth, emotional resilience, and confidence

Specialist Support For:

💜 Women and mums recovering from toxic or abusive relationships

💜 Single mums feeling emotionally drained or stuck

💜 Mums raising children while dealing with an abusive or difficult ex

💜 Mums of children with SEN or disabilities

💜 Women struggling with anxiety, depression or burnout

💜 Those healing from childhood trauma and low self-worth

About Me

I’m a qualified psychodynamic counsellor (BSc, MSc, MBACP) with lived experience of trauma, anxiety, and the emotional weight that can come with being a mother. I understand what it feels like to lose yourself while trying to hold everything together. That’s why I’m passionate about helping women reconnect with who they are and find their inner shine again.

Session Info

I offer counselling in-person (Stoke-on-Trent, Bucknall), online across the UK, and via telephone for those who prefer to talk without video. Together, we’ll create a space that supports your healing in a way that works for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified psychodynamic counsellor with a degree in Psychology and a Master’s in Health Psychology. My training has given me a strong foundation in understanding human behaviour, unconscious processes, and how past experiences shape our present emotions and relationships.

I am especially passionate about supporting mothers, helping them navigate the challenges of identity, self-worth, and emotional well-being.

In addition to private practice, I have worked in an SEN school, providing support to children with additional needs and their families. This experience has deepened my understanding of the unique pressures parents face, particularly mothers, and informs my compassionate and insight-driven approach.

My continued professional development ensures that I stay informed on the latest research and therapeutic approaches to best support my clients.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
