About me

I have a degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy and I have also had training in Mind Body Attunement Therapy, which focuses on the nervous system and how we can hold trauma in the body. I have had my own Private Practice for around 5 years and I am currently working alongside EAPs for those suffering from low mood, anxiety and work related stress. Many people I have worked with come to therapy because they have experienced relationship issues, bereavement, low mood or trauma and are ready to work through and explore their emotions.

If you are feeling overwhelmed by life, you may benefit from talking therapy. I can offer a space for you to explore this and gain insight and understanding to what you are experiencing. In my opinion, the first step in recovery is self-awareness and from self-awareness, you can build a kinder and more compassionate relationship with yourself. Counselling may be a new or familiar journey for you, either way, it can be a journey towards personal understanding and growth. Within our day to day lives there can be many struggles and difficulties. You may have had diffcult childhood experiences that are affecting your everyday life. I can assist you in learning to regulate your emotions through noticing the body and understanding how defense mechanisms work. Therapy can offer a space for you to be heard and can offer a pathway to change.

I offer acceptance and empathy in a safe and non-judgemental space, which I hope will enable individuals to share themselves, explore and discover their qualities. I am passionate about helping people lead a more fulfilling life and I aim to assist my clients in finding their inner strengths. Therapy is very much a collaborative guided process which is focused around each individual getting what they need from working with me.

Personally, I have experienced depression and anxiety and I have also had my fair share of therapy in the past. I found it was really useful for me in those times of need to help me get to a better place in my life. I hope it can offer you the same.

Thank you, Danielle.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
