About me

Experiencing yourself in conversation with the right person, can be transformative.

I’m a well established and accomplished psychodynamic psychotherapist & counsellor. I run two clinics, in Highgate (North London) and London Bridge (Central London).

Note:I also work extensively Online (in the Uk & Abroad).

  • My aim is to relieve your distress in the most effective way possible by establishing an uninhibited, facilitatory space where thoughts & feelings can be revealed safely.
  • I am impartial, attentive, curious & determined to explore fears, anxieties and uncertainties. To understand how your feelings intertwine with daily life, how you experienced them in the past, offering hope for the future.
  • I have a wealth of experience to draw on and work face-to-face with all clients, online in the UK and worldwide (particularly English speaking territories & Expats).
  • Whether online or in-person, counselling & psychotherapy with me offers a confidential, non-judgemental space in which to explore confused, unsettled or disturbed feelings. To discover what is behind your experience and to provide insight & hope, where both are absent.

Details of how I work can be found here at: https://www.heathpractice.co.uk

Psychodynamic psychotherapy is a relational approach which links past experience and unconscious processes to present problems.

It's a place where energy is primarily and collaboratively focused on lines of thought. A place where time is reserved for feelings, to discover how we experience them, how we can understand them and to appreciate the often painful, conflicted conundrums that trouble us and our relationships.

Doubt and uncertainty will most likely be reflected in our work together, but within this safe, reliable & deeply thoughtful space your emotional life can be given room to explore & grow

I focus on relationship patterns, unconscious experience and processes, developmental history and what occurs between the two of us in the room.

I retain a wealth of experience and hold particular understanding in these clinical areas:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Personality disorders
  • Trauma
  • Low self-esteem
  • Stress
  • Bereavement
  • Sexuality issues
  • Domestic violence
  • Loneliness and isolation
  • Childhood sexual abuse
  • Eating disorders
  • Relational conflict/codependency

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
