About me

The services I offer: Counselling for trainees: Art Therapy / Play Therapy / Drama Therapy trainees, Clinical Supervision, Creative Supervision and Mentoring.

I am a well qualified and experienced accredited Counsellor, Art therapist and Clinical Supervisor.

I am registered and accredited with The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society. NCPS.

I have over 20 years post qualification experience in the areas of Counselling and further specialist areas of Art Therapy and Clinical Supervision. I am trained to work across modalities with Therapists, Counsellors, trainee Counsellors, Art, Drama and Play Therapists, Teachers, Social Workers, Carers, NHS Practitioners and Emergency Services Workers.

I also offer mentoring for Teachers and the helping professions.

I offer Counselling for trainees who are in training as Counsellors, Art Therapy trainees and associated creatives training in Creative Therapies (Art, Play and Drama). I offer Clinical Supervision and Creative Supervision sessions via Art Therapy / Creative Arts and Transpersonal Arts, using creative mediums for personal growth, insight and transformation.

Mediums used in Art Therapy include: Expressive materials; primarily paint, oil and chalk pastels, marker/crayons, mixed media, craft materials, mixed media, collage, clay, writing/journaling, poetry, photography/image, puppetry and sandplay.

My therapeutic practices essentially are integrative by nature, this involves drawing on a range of approaches effective in short and long term therapies. For each Supervisee appropriate approaches are established in collaboration in a focused, gentle and respectful way in order to promote successful supervision. Sessions may include educational, therapeutic and experiential approaches.

I have additional experience of Drama Therapy and Music Therapy.

As an Art Therapist, imagination and creativity are a central part of my work and help my Supervisees open up new ways of thinking and explore their client work with encouragement and support.

Creative Supervision sessions are built around the explorative art-making process, conversation and exploring the supervisee - client therapeutic relationship, where thoughts, reflections and experiences can be explored and witnessed, held in a safe space.

My Experience:

I have worked with a wide range of clients with a diverse set of needs, including specialist training in bereavement, loss and grief, complex grief and end of life care, having previously worked for a leading Children's Hospice for over 13 years as a Counsellor, Art Therapist and Clinical Supervisor.

I also specialise in working with anxiety, panic, depression, self worth and self esteem.

I have a calm and gentle approach, I will always take an interest in what you need to be able to feel safe, take things at your pace and encourage you to make the most of our time together in the session.
