5 Second Avenue
I offer one to one counselling and psychotherapy for adults and young people from a practice based in the Sherwood area, just outside of Nottingham city centre. There are many reasons to come to counselling. You might have a specific issue you would like to discuss, be generally finding it hard to cope or need to share something with someone confidentially; I will offer a safe, warm, respectful environment for you to speak about and explore whatever you need to.
I work in a comfortable, quiet room approximately 10 minutes drive from the centre of Nottingham, easily accessible via bus routes and with parking available outside. I am flexible with appointment times, with availability during the day and evenings Monday to Friday.
If you are interested in counselling/psychotherapy and would like to find out more about how it might help you, do not hesitate to contact me. It could be via phone, email or a face-to-face meeting to briefly discuss your situation and meet me before deciding if it's the right thing for you.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a Masters Qualification in Humanistic Person Centred Psychotherapy from the Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute (accredited by Birmingham University) and I am registered with the UKCP. I currently work part-time as a counsellor at Nottingham Trent University and run a private practice based in the Sherwood Rise area of Nottingham.
I have previous experience of working with a wide range of clients from different backgrounds and ages for both long-term and short-term work. Over the last 6 years I have worked as a counsellor in a 6th form college, several universities, a GP surgery, in charity-based organisations, as well as in private practice.
I have worked with many different people of all ages and backgrounds who have come to counselling with a range of problems, issues and concerns.
I have particular experience working with students and young people, people experiencing issues around food/eating (mild/moderate eating disorders), people who have experienced loss or bereavement and people experiencing issues around their identity and relationships with others.
