About me

I am a licensed Therapist in Hertfordshire, UK with 6 years of professional work experience. I provide effective, individual psychological care and my experience comes from providing direct mental health counselling for adults, children and adolescents with a variety of presenting issues, including anxiety, depression, low self esteem/low confidence, relationship and family issues and OCD.

My passion is to help you grow from your struggles, heal from your pain, and move forward to where you want to be in your life. I believe that you are the expert of your story and it is my passion to help uncover the strengths and abilities that you already have to deal with the challenges you may be facing. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage and I am so proud of you for getting started!

I provide a non judgemental enviroment to individuals, families, and couples and believe in renewing the mind and challenging unhealthy beliefs, patterns and behaviours and replacing them with healthy ways of thinking and behaving so you can live happier and in freedom!

My therapy style and approach draws influence from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Psychodynamic, Solution Focused Therapy and biblical teachings (if required)

A top priority for me is to meet you where
you are and calibrate treatment. I acknowledge that your mind, body, spirit, and community are connected and I strive to treat the therapeutic relationship, and you, with compassion, respect, and warmth.

I also offer Christian counselling upon request whereby I combine faith with the principles of psychology to improve mental health and relationships. More specifically, this therapy approach uses scripture and biblical teachings to help you deal with life’s challenges.

Training, qualifications & experience

My experience is varied and across settings, as I have provided individual and family therapy in community mental health agencies, school settings and day centres.

I have accumulated over 8 years  experience of working within the field of mental health and currently hold a Level 5 Advanced Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
