Our counselling service is based in the heart of Cwmbran and is dedicated to making emotional support accessible, affordable, and tailored to your needs. We work with adults from all walks of life, offering both short-term and long-term therapy depending on your goals.
We use an integrative approach, drawing from Person-Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and other evidence-based models, so that your therapy is as unique as you are. Whether you're struggling with relationships, grief, self-esteem, work-related stress, trauma, or simply feeling stuck, our focus is on helping you gain clarity, build resilience, and move forward with greater self-awareness.
Cwmbran Counselling is LGBTQ+ affirmative and neurodiversity-informed, with a commitment to inclusivity and creating a safe therapeutic environment for everyone.
Sessions are available in-person, online, and by telephone to suit your preferences and schedule.
Training, qualifications & experience
At Cwmbran Counselling, we are a team of therapists with a diverse range of training, backgrounds, and experiences. Our counsellors are qualified at various levels, from Level 4 in Counselling Skills through to Master’s degrees (MA) in Counselling and Psychotherapy, allowing us to offer a wide variety of perspectives, approaches, and expertise to meet your individual needs.
As an integrative practice, we draw from a range of evidence-based approaches, including Person-Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Gestalt, Existential Therapy, and elements of Third-Wave CBT such as mindfulness and ACT. This enables us to provide flexible, personalised therapy tailored to you.

All therapists at Cwmbran Counselling are committed to ethical and inclusive practice, and many are registered or working towards registration with professional bodies such as the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) or National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS).
We are also committed to ongoing professional development, with our team regularly completing CPD in areas such as trauma-informed practice, suicide prevention, neurodiversity in therapy, and working with marginalised groups.
Our aim is to provide a supportive, non-judgemental space where every client feels seen, heard, and empowered.
Member organisations *

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
