About me

About me

I'm Crista Jones, an autistic person and HCPC registered therapist, based in Brighton & Hove, offering individual therapy to autistic children and young people, aged 7-27, who are experiencing  difficulties such as burnout, anxiety and low mood.

My approach

My approach is a mixture of talking therapy and creative arts therapy and is adapted to the specific need of each young person. My approach is neuroaffirmative and neuroinclusive.

My ethos

The purpose of therapy is to improve the young person's internal wellbeing. The intention is not to make the young person 'less autistic' or to encourage them to repress their autistic traits. In fact a young person may present as 'more autistic' as they unmask and gain self understanding.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a post graduate diploma in psychological therapies for autistic children and young people from UCL and a masters degree in dramatherapy from ARU.

HCPC
Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
