About me

About me

I'm Crista Jones, an autistic person and a therapist (registered with HCPC), based in Brighton & Hove. I offer individual therapy and counselling to autistic children and young people, aged 7-27, who are experiencing  mental health difficulties such as autistic burnout, anxiety and low mood. I have a post graduate diploma in psychological therapies for autistic children and young people and a masters degree in creative arts therapy.

My approach

My approach is a mixture of talking therapy and creative arts therapy. It is adapted to the specific need of each young person. My approach is neuroaffirmative and neuroinclusive, ensuring to validate autistic communication, autistic processing and autistic lived experience.

My ethos

The purpose of therapy is to improve a person's internal wellbeing, The intention is not to make the  'less autistic' or to encourage them to repress their autistic traits, the aim is to support someone to build their internal self worth and support them to unmask and gain self understanding.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a post graduate diploma in psychological therapies for autistic children and young people from UCL and a masters degree in dramatherapy from ARU.

Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
