About me

I provide confidential counselling devoted to helping you overcome struggles and to optimise your mental and emotional health.

I understand that coming to counselling maybe challenging, so I applaud you for taking the first step towards wellness and embarking on this new journey. I can help you manage your everyday stress, including relationship issues, parenting and work difficulties. I can also help you cope with loss and other life transitions, as well as provide treatment for depression, anxiety, trauma and addiction.

I use various evidence-based theories and methodologies, such as client-centred therapy, solution focused therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, family systems therapy, narrative therapy, existential therapy, play therapy, and mindfulness. All these approaches are geared towards short-term therapy, meaning the goal is somewhere between 6-12 sessions. However, exceptions can apply depending on the nature of the challenges you face.

I also help aspiring and existing professionals develop their careers. I work extensively with children and families.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Master of Science Degree in Counsellor Education, specifically in the field of Clinical Mental Health from Radford University in Virginia, USA. I am also a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.

Since January 2017, I have been employed as an Intensive In-Home Counsellor. Moreover, I have worked as a Therapeutic Day Treatment Counsellor in a nearby Primary School. As an in-home counsellor, I work with children with a range of diagnosis, ranging from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, to Oppositional Defiant Disorder and Reactive Attachment Disorder. My clients are typically children who have been referred to services by schools, hospitals, psychiatrists, social workers, out-patient counsellors and even courts.

I have the following certifications:

  • Registered Behaviour Technician (Applied Behaviour Analysis for treatment of children with Autism)
  • Brief Negotiated Interview
  • Motivational Interviewing
  • Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT)
  • Trauma-Focused CBT
  • Psychological First Aid
