About me

I am a qualified, professionally registered psychotherapist and pluralistic counsellor. I work with adolescents and adults who require support with their mental health. In particular, my expertise and experience lie in supporting people of all ages with depression, low mood, anxiety/stress, low self-esteem and their ultimate manifestations: hopelessness, and a retreat from life, and the painful realisation; that we are merely “existing” rather than truly “living” our lives. I know and understand what it is like to feel these emotions and how destructive and debilitating they can be.  If you, or your loved one, is suffering in this way:

Please get in touch, I can help you.

Training, qualifications & experience

After 16 years working in education, I retrained as a psychotherapist and pluralistic counsellor. I am privileged to spend my professional life helping adolescents, young people and adults regain control of their thoughts and emotions, and rediscover meaning within their lives.

I have many hundreds of hours experience successfully working daily as a psychotherapist, and running parental support and advisory classes.

I also run a private practice.

As well as my Advanced Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling and Practice, I hold undergraduate and advanced degrees in law and bioethics, postgraduate qualifications in advanced educational practice, and special educational needs and  I have also recently completed a postgraduate qualification in Specialist Clinical Practice (Autism and LD).

Further information

I am married with 2 children and I live in the great city of  Liverpool. I spent 16 years as a teacher of philosophy and ethics, and 12 years working as a specialist teacher supporting students with additional needs. It was during this time that I came to understand, from working with children, adolescents and their professionals that mental health, and the attrition of self-confidence, was the number one causative factors in depression, anxiety, and as a function – low attainment, low self-worth, hopelessness, stress and even agoraphobia.

If you recognise these symptoms in yourself or in a loved one, please get in touch. I can help.
