Let me begin by telling you a story … Back in 1993, a lady was put into a situation where she feared for her personal safety. She was actually very safe, in the house where she lived - but a situation led to her feeling very unsafe. This feeling took the lady to a place that ultimately opened up a huge can of worms …. and subsequently into therapy. The first therapist she saw was unhelpful in her approach and so the lady decided, she didn't need therapy. But within a couple of months, that can of worms started wiggling and she sought help with a different therapist. What followed was 18 months of therapy …. the lady was of course me, and so my journey into the world of therapy began.
I know how difficult it is to make that first contact with a therapist, how scary it can seem to make the call but how much better it will be once you have found that courage to take the first small step.
Seeing a counsellor is a tough choice - and as the client, it's important it feels right for you. That's why I offer a free 30 minute consultation. At the consultation, you will have the opportunity to meet with me and to work out if we are a good match for each other.
In the main, I work with clients who have anxiety and/or depression or who just know that something is not quite right but they are not sure what.
If this is you, please feel free to book in for your free consultation - no pressure from me to book a paid appointment because only you will know if it is the right thing to do for you.

Colette specialises in working with clients who have anxiety concerns. I know how difficult anxiety is to live with; I recognise the behaviours a person suffering with anxiety displays; I acknowledge the daily battle anxiety causes; I know how controlling anxiety is.
My personal experience of anxiety means that when working with clients who have anxiety, I am able to provide realistic reassurance whilst helping clients face their daily battle until the anxiety no longer controls them …. But they control the anxiety.
I also specialise in working with parents who are struggling with the daily challenges parenting can bring. This service is not about providing strategies for parents but supporting parents. Colette will work with you providing you with a safe place to share the challenges you face – helping you to return your house into a home
