I am a qualified Psychosynthesis Counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP). I chose Psychosynthesis as I believe in a holistic approach to therapy.
Recognising that people have different needs, I provide private therapy sessions to adults on a long-term and short-term basis. Each session will last 50 minutes.
I work both in person and online. I am happy to meet you in person at the Psychosynthesis Trust in London Bridge or my counselling room in Teddington High Street.
What I can help you with
As a therapist, I can help you in managing personal growth, relationships, family issues, childhood trauma, low self-esteem and confidence, identity issues, lack of purpose and meaning, anxiety, stress, life crisis, and more.
Some of the clients that are coming to see me are stressed and anxious individuals, people that put themselves last and struggle with low self-esteem. Some don’t feel they belong in their family or in the world, others feel overwhelmed by their job demands or hassles of daily life. Several are dissatisfied with their friendships or are facing relationship issues including breakups or divorce, and more.
How I work with you
I will work with you to identify the difficulties you are experiencing, explore their impact on your life and foster new perspectives and strategies that lead to lasting changes and more joyful living. My work addresses the cause of your distress and the behaviour patterns that curb your progress, rather than treating just the symptoms.
My approach is empathic, supportive, relational, and direct. Working holistically and flexibly, I will respectfully, kindly, and confidentially assist you through your problems and personal development. This is achieved by adjusting my approach to match your individual needs and the issues you bring to the sessions.
Our first session
In our first session, we will discuss the reasons you have come to therapy, what your expectations are, how we will work together, and any fears or concerns that you might have.
If we choose to continue working together, we will arrange a mutually convenient day and time for our sessions. This will be your dedicated weekly slot.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychosynthesis Counselling. Psychosynthesis promotes the healing, development and integration of all aspects of a person in order to lead a more fulfilling and purposeful life.
I have extensive experience of working with a wide range of ages and backgrounds, making my therapy room a welcoming space for all.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
