About me

Hey, I’m Clare… firstly, well done for getting this far, I understand how daunting it can feel to reach out when you’re struggling with various issues. Looking on this directory I can see there are a lot of wonderful counsellors who are waiting to be able to help you, offering lots of different forms of therapy. I was just wondering how I would feel If I was in your shoes right now? I am pretty sure that I wouldn’t have a clue what all the different therapy words mean or what they all do. If you would like a brief informal chat to discuss all of this, I am more than happy to oblige.

I have a lot of experience working with adults, children, and families covering a wide spectrum of issues. I have also have a wealth of experience working with couples. During the time I have been qualified, I have been fortunate to have gained expertise working in various agencies. These have included, Doncaster Hospice, CAMHS Wakefield, BSARCS and in various High Schools throughout the Wakefield area.

Whatever your situation is, I am not here to pass judgement or to give advice; I just hope that by you having some sessions with me you may gain some clarity and perspective as to what is going on for you right now. Counselling sessions are more about empowering you the client to facilitate some changes to help you to move in the direction that feels best for you.

I work from a counselling room which is purpose built at my home address. During the pandemic I have decided to offer consultations and sessions via Zoom for your and my safety.

If you feel that this sounds right for you, please feel free to get in touch by either telephone or email. I also have a Facebook page, if you prefer this means of communication. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Take care… Clare

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
