About me
You deserve the highest quality mental health care for whatever challenges you’re facing. I provide holistic, psychological therapy and life coaching that furthers your development and growth. With a specialism in anxiety and trauma, I aid my clients’ recovery from their experiences. I help my clients realise, achieve, and even surpass their identified goals. I want to help you reach your fullest possible potential and recognise your values and your strengths. My clients feel seen and heard by someone who genuinely cares and listens. My goal is to get to the root of your challenges and work in-depth to resolve them with lasting impact.
I work collaboratively with you in our sessions. Everyone is different and deserves a slightly different treatment plan to realise their highest capabilities and meet their unique needs. I use a value-driven, in-depth holistic approach customised to you. I draw upon a variety of different therapeutic interventions and provide a listening ear.

Senior Counselling & Coaching Psychologist,
Dr Clare Stone is a highly professional and qualified Counselling & Coaching Psychologist with over 16 years of therapeutic experience. She is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and Chartered by the British Psychological Society (BPS).
She has a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology and an Honours Degree in Psychology from Glasgow Caledonian University. In addition, she has a Postgraduate Teachers Qualification in Further Education and has undertaken additional training in supervision and mindfulness.
Clare has experience working in a number of settings including working with a leading veteran’s charity to develop, manage and deliver a PTSD intensive treatment programme. She has also offered therapy within an NHS centre which specialises in psychological treatment for people who have experienced trauma. Clare has experience working with people with addiction issues both within the NHS and for a charitable organisation. In addition, she has provided therapy and contributed to research within a well-respected therapy research clinic. Clare has also worked as a psychology lecturer at a further education college, and held the post of professional development tutor and occasional lecturer on a doctoral course for trainee Counselling Psychologists. Her university role involved mentoring and supporting the development of trainee Counselling Psychologists in their professional practice.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.

At Dr Stone Elevate, we believe that psychological theory, evidence and knowledge are not just beneficial to those who struggle with mental health issues. Coaching starts with an in-depth assessment. This is typically for 2 sessions where relevant information is gathered in relation to different aspects of your life. Goals are collaboratively created, and the appropriate style of coaching approach is also agreed upon.
Working with a Psychologist means that we can draw upon a number of evidence-based psychological coaching models. These can be customised to meet the needs of each individual client. This is a distinct benefit of working with ourselves.
At present life coaching is a saturated field, with an unprotected title, which can leave members of the public vulnerable to unwarranted claims of expertise in coaching from some who lack both the experience and appropriate training. You can be assured in the knowledge that with Dr Stone Elevate you are working with a fully qualified psychological specialist, who is educated to Doctoral standard. Therefore our service offers peace of mind in working with a Psychologist who is HCPC registered, chartered by the British Psychological Society, a BPS member of the special group in Coaching Psychology, and named on the official BPS register for Coaching Psychologists.
Psychological models commonly used in life coaching can vary from– Solution Focussed, Humanistic model working with the self-actualising tendency, Positive Psychology, Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) model, Cognitive Behavioural (CBT) and motivational interviewing.
