Invision Counselling Clare (Flo) Knowles (Dip Couns MBACP)
At some point we all need someone to talk to; someone who does not have their own agenda - who we can trust and who will not judge us.
Counselling is a 'talking therapy' for anyone with any issue/s - a safe relationship between qualified professional and 'client'. It can be challenging, but I offer a supportive, caring and confidential environment.
I would work collaboratively with you in looking at your problems and achieving your goals; empowering you towards change - often achieving self worth, clarity, resolution and acceptance.
I work and trained in a humanistic integrative way; using different skills and interventions which I think may help e.g. ideas from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Transactional Analysis.
I provide this face to face service for individuals in the East Cheshire and South Manchester areas; working from a suitable room in my home (which is near a train station) offering total confidentiality.
I offer long or short term therapy, daytime and evening appointments, competitive rates and student 'packages'.
Training, qualifications & experience
I qualified at Level 4 Diploma in the Practice and Theory of Counselling.
I have obtained my Transactional Analysis '101' Certificate with the Institute of Transactional Analysis.
I attended courses, have experience in the field of addiction and worked at an agency offering counselling for people in treatment for drug and alcohol abuse.
I have two years clinical experience as a counsellor for the NHS in the Occupational Health Departments of a large teaching hospital and a district general, where I continue to counsel as well as working in my private practice Invision.
I am committed to Continuing Professional (and personal) Development as recommended by the Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) of which I am a member. This includes attending various workshops, e.g. Stress Management, and further training on a regular basis.
Areas of counselling I deal with
- Domestic violence
- Low self-confidence
- Low self-esteem
- Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)
- Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
- Relationship problems
Other areas of counselling I deal with
Anticipatory loss/grief, Assertiveness, Childhood issues, Co-dependency.
For individuals I charge £30 per session which typically lasts 50 minutes.
The number of sessions needed depends on you and your presenting problem/s. This would be discussed following our initial assessment and reviewed regularly.
Packages (details depending on the number of sessions needed) are available for students who require therapy as part of their own counselling training.
Please check out my website for further information about my background, practice and testimonials.
If you are looking for a counsellor, you have probably made the first important and often brave step. It is essential to choose a counsellor you feel comfortable with to accompany and facilitate you on your journey.
Nothing beats meeting face to face so the next step is to make an appointment, but please feel free to pick up the phone for a quick chat initially if you prefer.
I can give you a call back if necessary on a number and/or at a time that suits you and will always protect your confidentiality.
