About me

I offer short and long term therapy for Adults, Children, Families and Couples. As a dedicated Counsellor, I am fully committed to  empower you to find your answers to spositive outsomes. I offer you a lifetime of extensive knowledge over 22 year’s experience.

My expertise rests in my ability to use a blended approach which supports us dealing with an array of difficulties. I find anxiety left untouched manifests further into other areas of our lives, as the intensity builds it can overspill and at times into our physical being causing ailments, feelings of weakness and vulnerability.  Excessive anxiety overwhelms our mind, clear thinking becomes less as the irrational thinking takes over. When this is the case life can become very conflicting, pointless and miserable, an opening for depression to set in, if this sounds like you make that call now.

A common difficulty is the lack of ability to face confrontation with others. This can lead to major problems in all area’s of our life, marriages, work, relationships, heightens stress/anxiety, family /parenting concerns.  Is this sounding familiar, then make that contact.

Addictive behaviour - eating, gambling, drinking, risk taking, online porn, shopping and so the list goes on is how for some of us we currently manage painful feelings especially if we feel out of control. Some of us recognise we don’t automatically have the skill set in dealing with change or unexpected challenges in fact it knocks the wind out of us and suddenly we start to recognise we have lost our purpose and meaning, and if so how do we get it back? The good news you don’t have to do it alone, in fact therapy provides the safest space for you to navigate your way forward with a professional by your side.

I can guarantee you commitment to your wellbeing, a weekly slot in a safe confidential space to rediscover you, your happiness and purposeful direction.

In our first appointment we will identify what needs to change and a way forward, I am confident you will leave feeling lighter and will start to regain what we all need belief that things will and can get better.

I work  from the age of 9 years, Couples, Families, Young People, Children and Adults.

I offer a free telephone assessment if needed, so we can get organised and start making those positive changes.

Due to my extensive background and skills I am currently sourced by outside agencies to support teenagers, families, and parents on reducing conflicts and stresses in family life and improve communication in gaining healthier attachments in relationships.

I am a BACP accredited counsellor, this demonstrates my commitment to providing you a safe, highly professional ethical standard of knowledge and skill. The accreditation is awarded to professionals who have taken the additional time to evidence their advanced knowledge and skills. The accredited register highlights professionals who recognise and commit to providing and maintaining a progressive standard, ability and quality of professional service.

My accomplishments involve working comprehensively with:

  • Supporting children in building their trust, confidence and self-esteem
  • Resolving communication difficulties in relationships

What to expect

My approach is tailored to the individual and is underpinned by my belief that we are all unique, and have the right to be accepted and appreciated for who we really are.

My goal is for us to achieve together a mental tool box that will always be available, be full of resilience tools, resources you can facilitate in building better relationships, healing the hurt, addressing negative thoughts and feelings, overcome the fear, to recognise and facilitate your strengths. Once you have these empowerment tools they are there for life and can be shared with others.

I can and will help you deal with any issue. My aim is to empower you to grow confidence, self-worth, and belief and have the courage to progress along your life's pathway... Let’s speak soon.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Family in need of solutions

If you are seeking answers to difficulties then I can help. I have supported families and teenagers daily for 20 years. I can offer you an individual package to suit your family needs.

All families are unique and the answer to solving long term/current difficulties is not on the Internet or in a textbook, it requires a human touch, a facilitator who has the skill and specialities in recognising strengths and can guide your children through the difficult times. Encourage positive change in a sensitive and secure atmosphere and ensure they have life time skills to apply through any difficulty they may face.
