About me
A Cognitive Behavioural and Rational-Emotive Behavioural (CBT/REBT) Psychotherapist with an extensive background in working with individuals, families and communities experiencing emotional distress. I work with adults experiencing emotional and psychological difficulties such as addictions, trauma (PTSD), obsessive compulsive disorder, depression (including post natal depression), generalised anxiety disorder, stress, social anxiety, panic disorder, health anxiety and sex and relationship problems.
I currently offer private therapy assessments and treatment at The Eaves in Guildford and Godalming as a BABCP Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist. Additionally, I provide Supervision to NHS Psychotherapists, and Private Supervision and am a BABCP Accredited Supervisor. I also hold a CBT Psychotherapist position with Surrey and Borders NHS Partnership Foundation Trust.
I believe and practice in a collaborative way, and liaise with the relevant healthcare professionals as appropriate. In practice I work using a brief model of psychotherapy that can range from 4-20 sessions depending on the problem/s presented and as agreed in therapy, however there are times when more long term therapy may be beneficial. I utilise specific evidence based Models, Formulations and Treatments alongside intuitive and reflective skills experience in order to understand an individual and their problem/s and additionally to work towards manageable and valuable change.
You may wish to change a problem situation, or change the way you think or behave in a situation. You may wish to feel differently. Whatever your goals, we would work together in therapy to understand the nature of your problem and teach you new alternative ways of managing.
