Perhaps your life's challenges, difficulties or even traumas have lead you here for help to manage day to day living or simply to find a sense of okness. Maybe unexpected life events, loss of control, anxiety, depression or anger have left you feeling overwhelmed and struggling to see the wood through the trees, let alone find enjoyment in life.
Why is talking important?
As well meaning as family and friends can be, often what you may need most is an impartial, non-judgemental place to just be yourself. Often telling your story to someone different allows you to observe it and work with it differently.
I provide a professional support and a confidential, relaxed, safe space to give you the necessary time to work on concerns at your own pace and in a way that suits you.
What I offer?
Perhaps most importantly I listen, just to you! I am welcoming, friendly and supportive of hearing your story so you feel less alone or isolated. As your narrative unfolds we'll work together to help you develop the capacity to think, feel and behave in a way that is healing, empowering and self-actualising.
For couples I work to help both of you increase your awareness of how your communication impacts your relationship and how this can be effectively changed. We then work at moving your relationship forward from what can have felt like a very stuck place.
My work can be either short (e.g 6-12 weeks) or long term for individuals, couples or groups.
How I work?
I take an integrative approach to my work and am influenced by the theory of Transactional Analysis and Relational Psychoanalysis. I draw upon neuroscience and body psychotherapy research.
