Clare Mary Dexter BSc (Hons) Dip. Integrative Counselling MBACP
Hello and welcome, my name is Clare.
Struggling? In a dark confusing scary place? Maybe you are feeling a mixture of difficult feelings; anger, sadness, guilt, shame, low mood, anxiety, loneliness, feeling like no-one understands or that no-one listens. Perhaps you’ve experienced a crippling loss of someone or some part of your life and you don’t know where to turn. You don’t know what to do, you feel stuck and lost.
So, what are you going to do? Go talk to a stranger about it?
Counselling can feel like a terrifying thing to do, you might have worries that it won’t work, that you can’t tell someone the thoughts, feelings and things that have happened to bring you to this point.
With Clare Dexter Counselling you will find yourself in a safe, welcoming space to share your darkness, angst, pain and difficulties. I will sit with you and guide you through whatever you are dealing with in complete confidence - to see there is beautiful light beyond what you are experiencing. Life can become a colourful and joyful place to be again. There are better days coming, I can see it. You are not alone.
My practice is based around an integrative approach. So ...what does this mean?
My particular integrative approach involves me using Cognitive Behavioural, Existentialism, Psychodynamic Theory, and Humanistic approaches.
Your therapeutic experience will be conceptualised to support your individual needs and wants for your counselling journey. This is your journey and we will take that journey at your pace. Whether that means you want to be challenged or gently guided is up to you. You may feel you want a short period of focused therapy to work on one thing or you might want a more long -term counselling arrangement - whichever you choose we will review your progress throughout your treatment and keep you in control.
Clare Dexter is fully qualified and insured Integrative Counsellor and a Registered Member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists.
Clare Dexter Counselling is also registered with the I.C.O to comply with your data protection rights. We will never share information you give us unless there a serious risk of harm to yourself or anyone else.
