About me

Hello I'm Clara and thank you for visiting my page.

Talking to someone about issues you may be facing can often be difficult, so well done for making that first step. Searching for a counsellor can also prove difficult and it is important to find the right one for you. I believe the most important aspect of therapy is the relationship between you and your counsellor.

There are many approaches to counselling and as a qualified Integrative Counsellor, I'm not limited to one method and I work with several theoretical approaches such as Person Centred, Gestalt, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Transactional Analysis. I also offer creative ways of working which can help where it is difficult to find the words, often working with your unconscious.

I work with a whole person approach and will tailor therapy to your individual needs and personal circumstances. I offer a warm, caring, non-judgemental and collaborative approach to support you on your journey of self exploration. I will be alongside you in your healing, realising your potential and discovery of how to live your best life.

I have experience of working with stress, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, ADHD, PTSD, sexual abuse, domestic abuse, addiction, attachment, relationship issues, parenting, carers, end of life and bereavement.

I provide a safe and confidential environment in a warm and spacious room within The Wellbeing Centre, Chepstow. I am also able to offer online sessions.  Should you decide to contact me we will have an initial meeting and decide together if counselling could be helpful. I offer both short and longer term work. Sessions will last 60 minutes usually weekly at a time agreed. I can provide longer sessions at request

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
