About me

Working with a range of psychological issues such as anxiety, relationship difficulties, depression, post traumatic stress, complex trauma and phobias I am an experienced Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) Practitioner/Supervisor and EMDR therapist based in Worthing. My therapy rooms are within easy walking distance of West Worthing station and there is parking available on site.

I offer a free, no obligation initial meeting to discuss what you are looking for in terms of counselling or therapy to ensure that you are getting the right support for the areas you want to work on. Please call me on 07776 258515 to arrange this appointment or you can contact me online through the directory.

CAT is a weekly time limited therapy which lasts between 16 and 24 weeks and EMDR is also a weekly therapy that is helpful for trauma and phobias, particularly post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The number of sessions for EMDR varies and will be agreed when we have discussed what it is you want to work on.

For more information please see www.tarringpsychotherapy.co.uk which has further details about both CAT and EMDR.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

ACAT
The Association of Cognitive Analytic Therapy (ACAT)

The Association for Cognitive Analytic Therapy (ACAT) is a registered charity. They welcome members of the public, health professionals, ACAT accredited professionals, and anyone interested in finding out more about CAT. They list CAT practitioners.
