About me
To support you with your difficulties I offer an empathetic and professional therapeutic setting. We can work together to help you find a way forward through whatever challenges life is presenting or has presented in the past.
I am committed to providing a warm, confidential, attentive and honest counselling relationship where you are at the centre. I work with young people, adults and older adults. I initially work with a person-centred approach, to build rapport and then embrace other ways of working, if that is suitable for you. I can use creative approaches during therapy sessions if you feel that this an approach that would enrich you.
I treasure individuality and offer a respectful counselling service that is moulded to you. I understand that past, present and future situations affect us in a way that may mean we feel overwhelmed or unhappy and that these are experienced in a unique way for each person.
My background as a teacher gives me an insight into the issues that children and young people face. I particularly enjoy working with young people and have substantial counselling experience in this area. I have taken specialist training for working with children and young people. In addition to my private practice, I work with adolescents at a charitable organisation as a volunteer counsellor. I have completed additional training to work with individuals struggling with bereavement and loss and have considerable experience working with adults and older adults supporting them with this. Furthermore, I have benefitted from training enabling me to work with anger; looking at the underlying issues or areas of life which can result in this
I understand that there are times in life when it’s really hard, we feel that we are not ok or maybe a situation we find ourselves in is not ok. You don’t need to manage alone; you have already made the first step to finding a way forward. If after reading this you find that I may be the counsellor you wish to work with; I offer a free 20-minute phone call to discuss what your struggles are.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
