About me
Hello I'm Claire
Thank you for reading my profile. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
I am now able to resume face to face counselling for those who wish, in addition to offering video and telephone counselling. I am also able to be flexible between approaches to meet your changing needs.
I understand making the first move towards starting counselling can feel like a daunting process. You may feel anxious, uncertain and overwhelmed, but you are taking that first step on the journey towards improving your life.
Does everything feel like its getting too much? Do you feel out of control of your life? Maybe you suffer from depression or anxiety? Have you experienced abuse or trauma? Are you struggling with coming to terms with a bereavement? Are you facing difficulties with fertility or pregnancy? Do relationships seem to go wrong? Do you just want life to be different? If you are struggling to make sense of your life, I can help you.
I believe ‘one size’ does not ‘fit all’ and as an integrative counsellor I am able to be adaptable and flexible to meet your individual needs.
I will work alongside you to support you with whatever is troubling you in the here and now, but I also find it can be helpful to look at what has gone on for you in the past, that may still be affecting your life now.
By working this way, I help you to improve your life, supporting you as you start to make sense of what has happened to you and where things are going wrong. As you start to understand yourself and your situation better, you can begin to make different choices and create some of the changes you want.
I offer a warm, confidential, respectful, accepting and non-judgmental space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings. You will always be in control of which elements of your life we look at and the pace we move at.
I am experienced in helping clients with a wide range of difficulties and issues including:

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
