About me

I am a UKCP registered Psychotherapist and offer therapy services to; adults and groups, plus I am a also Supervisor for Counsellors and Psychotherapists. I have extensive experience of working with a variety of different methods and approaches, these include; Transactional Analysis, Existentialism, Relational, Transpersonal and Energy Psychology.

I believe it is important to work with you as an individual and will combine the approach to best serve you. I offer work from a relational and human psycho-spiritual perspective, which involves the development of activating a self-healing function of consciousness and awareness. This in turn works towards a process of opening the way toward wholeness, autonomy and a feeling of fulfillment.

Clients that tend to come to see me come from the local and surrounding areas of Hilton, Etwall, Hatton, Tutbury, Ashbourne, Uttoxeter, Burton-on-Trent and Derby.

Services

If you are looking to become more aligned with your true self and ready to work at a deep transformational level, then a warm welcome to my profile. I am a UKCP registered Psychotherapist and Supervisor (June 2024).

For me, I believe that we all have the capacity to change, grow and transform our lives. The word "alchemy" represents to me the inner transformation that can take place through understanding the truths that we hold within. My belief is that we all hold the answers within us, and have a capacity to heal, but sometimes we need support to achieve this.

I've always understood and been deeply drawn to the connection to both the science and arts, (or spirituality), and its been important to me to bring these into alignment both personally and within my practice. This offers a deeper understanding of ourselves, brings more awareness to how we operate within the world, and how we can live our lives more harmoniously. I strongly believe that if we can bring the  "whole" part of ourselves together, we create a deeper connection to ourselves and we can begin to experience harmony both internally and external to our lives.

The work I offer is through Psychotherapy with a focus on the whole self, and may use Meditation, Mindfulness and Energy Psychology alongside this to enable healing, growth and transformation. I work with individuals that may wish to work with these aspects in mind, and are looking to understand more about themselves from this perspective.

It is important for you to feel a connection with your Psychotherapist and I will firstly offer you an initial consultation for up to 40 minutes, to help you decide if I am the right therapist for you, and for me to ensure I have the right skills to support you. This will allow you to discuss your issue with me, understand how I work and for us both to decide if we would like to work together.

I also offer Supervision for Counsellors and Psychotherapists, that may be looking to work from a relational, holistic and psycho-spiritual perspective within their practice. I will be fully qualified in June 2024, and currently have 1 space available at a reduced rate of £30. In June my fees for Supervision will increase to £45.

I also have a particular focus and experience of working with people that are on the Autism Spectrum, please feel free to contact me to discuss further if this may be helpful for you.

I work from an office in my home in Foston in Derbyshire, which has easy access from the A50, and offers you a comfortable, peaceful and secure environment. I also have use of the garden if you prefer to have your sessions outside in nature. There is parking at my premises and there is a bus route close by.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

UKCP
UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
