About me
Hi, my name is Claire, and I appreciate you taking the time to read my profile. I am a person-centred counsellor and CBT therapist with experience supporting individuals facing a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, anger management, bereavement, stress, and loss.
I offer a warm, non-judgmental space where you can speak openly and honestly, free from the need to protect the feelings of those around you. I value and accept you as you are, providing an environment where you feel truly heard and understood. My approach is rooted in empathy, honesty, and genuine connection, allowing me to experience and understand your world from your perspective.
How I Work
Counselling with me is a collaborative process. Our sessions will be led by you, giving you the opportunity to explore your thoughts and emotions at your own pace. My role is to support and guide you, helping you identify the resources, strengths, and coping strategies that will empower you to navigate challenges, build self-confidence, and recognise your ability to make choices.
I integrate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) into my practice—a goal-oriented, evidence-based approach that helps you manage difficulties by addressing unhelpful thinking patterns and behaviours. By working together, we can identify and challenge negative thought cycles, helping you break free from them and regain a sense of control and balance in your life.
CBT not only helps relieve current distress but also provides you with lifelong tools to manage future challenges. One of its key objectives is to help you develop the skills and confidence to become your own therapist, so you can navigate life’s ups and downs with greater ease.
No two people are the same, which is why I tailor therapy to your unique needs. We can incorporate both person-centred therapy and CBT to create a personalised approach that works best for you.
If you’re ready to take the first step, I’m here to support you.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have an ABC level 4 diploma in Therapeutic counselling and a Cpcab Level 5 in Cognitive behavioural therapy.
My background is in child bereavement, supporting families through the loss of a child. This is close to my heart, and I feel passionate about it. I understand the complexities of how life is very different, and days can feel like there is a grey cloud above you.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
