About me
For You
Counselling is a brave step to take, but one that I believe can be the most supportive and worth while decisions you will make.
I want to understand you and what brings you into Counselling. I aim to create a comfortable safe space for you to be yourself. We will work together to understand the situation you need support with and look at how this is impacting your life.
Life can be tough it's not perfect and sometimes it can throw up situations which can overwhelm and flood us leaving feelings of not being able cope. Sometimes we may feel that life has always felt difficult and there is huge sadness/anger within us.
How I work
I am trained as an 'Integrative Counsellor' & hold a qualification as a Supervisor my theoretical framework is an Integrative one that draws on areas such as Psychodynamic, Humanistic, Gestalt and Cognitive theories to inform my work. Therefore in practice I can work in a flexible way ensuring that our therapeutic relationship gives you the maximum support. I aim to create a warm confidential safe space for you to feel respected and heard.
I will work to help you understand how sometimes past events/problems can influence the current way we view ourselves/others. This may have led to destructive patterns of behaviour and thoughts. My belief is that Counselling can improve your self-awareness and in doing so this will help you to feel differently about yourself and life.
The people I work with often say they feel lighter and a sense of peace within themselves, as a result of the Counselling. In a world where stress can be linked to disease it is important that we help ourselves.
