About me

Sometimes life is tough and we find ourselves struggling to make sense of things which can be a lonely and confusing experience. I believe that counselling can benefit anyone who has become tired of walking along a trodden path. That path can feel endless with a willingness to persist for longer than we would like.

My place is yours, set in the heart of Highgate House where our surroundings are safe, warm and without judgement. A space where we can share and challenge the negatives and distresses in a person-centred way. The counselling journey and the healing process is yours, supported by the trusting relationship we can build together.

Initial sessions give you the opportunity to experience me as a person and as a therapist, where you can ask questions and begin to share your experiences safely. The first step can often be the most difficult yet the most empowering.

Sessions last for an hour. Your initial session is offered free of charge to help the biggest step feel a little easier. Sessions are charged at £40 thereafter. A concessionary rate of £35 per session is available for full-time students and trainee counsellors. I believe that therapy should be of the highest quality at an affordable and sustainable price for everyone.

A warm welcome is assured. I am easily accessible in Kendal town centre with the benefit of private parking for the duration of our sessions should you wish to use it.

I am ready to come on your journey as your therapeutic companion and we can tackle the obstacles together until we reach your more peaceful and comfortable destination.

‘It is worth us all remembering that, no journey of the mind is impossible, it's only a matter of navigation.’

Warm wishes

Claire

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
