About me

Having a confidential space to talk, a space just for you, can start you on the path to making positive changes and becoming more self-aware and accepting of yourself.

My aim is to provide a supportive environment in which you can feel safe enough to work through difficult issues.  I offer a warm and respectful relationship that allows you to explore new or different ways of living your life and being in relationship with both yourself and others.

I understand that experiences, past and present, can impact your wellbeing.  My way of working acknowledges the importance of your childhood and past experiences, while focusing on your experiences in the present.

If you would like to know more, please contact me and we can arrange a free 15-minute call to answer your questions and help you decide whether what I offer is what you need.

I work with adults in weekly 50-minute sessions, both short- and long-term.

My rooms are in Surbiton, a few minutes' walk from the station.

Training, qualifications & experience

I’m an experienced counsellor and have worked in both an NHS setting and in private practice.  I teach on a counselling degree programme and am a clinical supervisor to both individuals and groups of qualified and trainee counsellors.  I've also worked as a specialist mentor to university students with mental health conditions.

I have a BA (Hons) in Integrative-Relational Counselling, and have done further training in working with trauma, mindfulness, an introduction to CBT, bodymind approaches, working with autism, personality disorders, and group therapy.  As part of my commitment to continued development, I'm currently doing a master’s degree in advanced clinical practice to ensure that my knowledge and skills remain relevant and current.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
