Christine Summers MBACP Integrative Counsellor
I offer a range of therapeutic services from brief counselling and hypnotherapy to longer term psychotherapy. Every client is different - a 'one size fits all' solution doesn't really work in therapy. So the number of sessions and the approach are tailored to your individual requirements. Perhaps time is of the essence or the budget is a concern - talk to me and we'll work out a way that is the most helpful and effective for you.
I think that therapy works best for people who want change in their lives. Therapy helps you make choices about how you want to live and be in the world. Maybe you want a new perspective on a long-term issue. Maybe you want encouragement and the support to achieve a particular goal. Sessions empower to you work through what's been holding you back and make positive and lasting difference.
For most people, it isn’t just one thing, it’s several and then the thought of change can be daunting. In therapy, you’ll find a safe place to talk about what’s really going on for you. I can help you to figure out what is wrong and how to do things differently, your way. I can help break down the transition into manageable, practical steps so that you can get back on track. So when it's time for that change, give me a call.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
