As well as my private practice I have also worked for the NHS and the Local Council, counselling adults and young people and I spent several years with Age Concern counselling the over 50's.
This has given me vast experience in dealing with a wide variety of issues, some of which are detailed below,
I understand how daunting it can be to make that first step to seek counselling...I understand because I was a client once! I was helped so much by my counsellor that I actually decided to take it up as a profession so that I could help others just as I was helped.
I came into counselling in my 40's, after studying at night school for 4 years (whilst working in a full time job as a Manager in the Civil Service)
I then I went on to qualify as a Hypnotherapist/ Psychotherapist, then did my CBT Diploma and subsequently the 2 year NLP Master Practitioner qualification.
Since then I have never stopped learning new ways to help people to get more out of their lives and to get back their quality of life!
I would welcome the opportunity to share with you some of the fabulous techniques I have learned over the years, to help you change those unhelpful thoughts, habits or behaviours that are keeping you locked in that box of hopelessness and despair...all of which are limiting your enjoyment of life !
So, please let me help you to find the key to unlock that box so that you can be the best YOU that YOU can be!

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

What some of my clients have said
Fear of flying..
"Just a short note from Gibraltar! You did say I would get on the plane and you were absolutely correct. The flight was great - I felt a little tense going through Security and on boarding, but I used all your techniques. I talked to people on the plane, did crosswords, read the paper and actually nodded off at one point. I cannot tell you how joyful I felt on the tarmac - I felt I could now achieve anything.
I would like to thank you so much for your kindness and understanding. It has made such a difference to my life."
Anxiety and depression
"Thank you so much for your therapy and wonderful support over the past few months. What a difference it has now made to my life!"
Anxiety and depression
"When I first went to see Chris I felt unable to cope with everyday life and did not really know who I was anymore. The journey I have been on has seen me come to terms with the death of my father and find myself again. I have learnt coping skills to enable me to enjoy life, smile, feel calm and love who I am."
