About me

I am a qualified, BACP registered, integrative humanist therapist, which means I draw on different approaches and techniques depending on your unique needs. I believe we are the experts on what is best for us, but we sometimes need some help along the way to figure things out. I offer a non-judgemental, empathetic, safe space where you can feel safe to be vulnerable and reflect and explore your inner thoughts, feelings and emotions to gain a greater understanding of why you feel the way you do.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have 25 years’ experience of working within social care and the NHS, with people with mental health and emotional difficulties, with people from all ages and diverse identities and backgrounds.

I believe the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important things in the healing process. I am here to support you and help you foster the changes you seek in your life. Whatever is affecting your quality of life and what’s holding you back from reaching your potential.

I believe in self compassion, self confidence and our human essence.

Type of therapy Integrative, relational, psychodynamic, humanistic, CBT, psychosynthesis, transpersonal, person centred.

I deliver therapy face to face, online, home visits, time limited, long term

I offer a free 15-minute telephone consultation to discuss what brings you to therapy and to find out if we can work together. The first session will be an assessment session to discuss the reason you have come for counselling what is important for you what you hope to achieve. If we agree to continue and work together we can agree on a time that is convenient which will be at the same day time each week. I deliver therapy face to face, online, time limited, long term.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
