Christina Williams FdSc, PGDip, MBACP
My name is Christina Williams and I am an Integrative Counsellor. I am trained in several theories which enables me to work effectively with each person as an individual.
In counselling, the client/counsellor relationship is one of the most important aspects and I offer a safe, confidential and relaxed environment in which to create this relationship. I aim to provide a secure place where you can feel heard, understood and accepted without feeling judged and where you can feel supported enough to explore painful and difficult thoughts and feelings.
I work with a wide range of issues including relationship difficulties, mental/physical abuse, anger, anxiety, bereavement, loss, bullying, self harm, depression and trauma and have experience of working with adults and young people. I work with clients both long term, face to face and short term, face to face depending on each individual's needs.
Relationships are one of the most important and rewarding aspects of life but maintaining a healthy and happy relationship isn't easy. There may be times when things get stuck and communication becomes difficult. Couples Counselling can provide a safe environment where couples can identify and work through problems and find a more effective way to communicate. I will encourage couples to speak freely and listen intently to each other in order that they both get an opportunity to be heard and understood.
Couples Counselling can also support couples who are separating/divorcing to deal with feelings such as anger and grief.
I am a member of the BACP and I adhere to their code of ethics. I am also committed to my continual professional development. This means I regularly attend training sessions and workshops in order to maintain and broaden my knowledge base and skills.
I have experience of working in a domestic abuse agency helping both survivors of abuse and people who want to end violent or abusive behaviour towards a partner. I have also worked in a large comprehensive school working with pupils (11-18 yrs) and adults.
I work in Bromley and offer daytime and evening appointments.
The first steps to change are always the hardest. I will support and help you take those first steps.
