About me

I offer a professional counselling service to individuals and couples. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to their professional standards.

I believe that we all have the ability to emotionally grow.  However, through experiences and situations we encounter in life, this growth can become distorted, inhibited or even change into something destructive.

Through counselling, I offer an environment where you can learn to feel comfortable and truly be yourself.  We can explore your situations or experiences together.  Giving you the opportunity to rediscover or find your ability to grow

You can expect a warm, safe, confidential space. I work in a caring and sensitive way, at your own pace and offer you support throughout. You will be actively listened to and together we will explore your situation, finding an understanding, helping you to work through it.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have experience in therapeutically working with people who have found themselves in difficult situations.

I have worked with people living with anxiety, guilt and isolation.  And those who do not feel comfortable with who they are, generating low self esteem.

I have a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and an Advanced Post Diploma Certificate in Person Centred Couples Counselling.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

You can contact the counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
