About me

I am a Consultant Clinical Psychologist with over 25 years experience of working in both private and NHS mental health services. I use a range of approaches to tailor therapy to meet individual needs.

Over the years I have undergone extensive training to keep up to date with effective therapy practice. I mainly use CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and Psychodynamic models as the basis for treatment.

Therapy usually starts with a comprehensive assessment of the difficulties experienced and involves working together in a supportive and collaborative manner to manage symptoms more effectively and restore balance to life.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a degree in Psychology (BSc) and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (D Clin Psy). Over the years I have worked in adult psychotherapy services, health psychology services and GP Practices.

I am a member of the British Psychological Society and the Division of Clinical Psychology.

HCPC
Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
