About me
Hi! My name is Christiane (she/her). I work as an online Art Psychotherapist with adults. I am trauma informed and work to build therapeutic relationships with my clients in order to meet them where they are and work at their own pace.
Art Psychotherapy can offer different tools which allow an opportunity to process or regulate emotions in a variety of different ways.
The way each of my clients use the materials is entirely dependent on their preferences and no art making experience is required. Art therapy is about the process and not the finished product.
A typical session will have verbal and art making elements whereas some clients will choose to be primarily verbal or to work entirely with the art.
I have a passion for working with people living with chronic illness and with the LGBTQI+ and GSRD community. I am kink and Poly affirmative.
As a person living with a chronic illness myself (a spoonie) I aim to create a more accessible system for people who are balancing their spoons. This means if you have an accessibility concerns in starting therapy please give me an email and see what options are available. This includes shorter sessions and flexibility around flares ups.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a MSc in Art Psychotherapy from Queen Margaret University.
I have experience of working with a diverse range of clients including within forensics, elderly persons services and within anxiety management programmes. Within these roles I have benefitted greatly from working in a person centred, trauma informed way. I have experience as a guest lecturer and supervisor within universities teaching Art Psychotherapy master programmes.

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
