About me

Hello. My name is Christian, I am a counsellor based in Belfast.  As a practitioner with a broad range of experience, I am trained and practiced in the Integrative Approach. This means that I use a combined approach to therapy that combines different elements of specific therapies. I am a believer in creative therapy and offer elements of a variety of holistic approaches such as art therapy, creative writing and music therapy. I favour this approach as it allows me to serve my clients in a solution focused way, offering therapeutic support tailored to your individual needs.

I offer you a calm, safe space to express emotion and articulate your concerns in whichever way you feel relevant. As you do this, I will stay with you through every step, working with you to navigate the complexities these conditions involve and find your own solutions to the difficulties preventing positivity in your life.

How do I work?

I offer 50 minute one to one sessions at my office in Belfast, via telephone or online face to face through video conferencing. I offer this variation of formats in order to make therapy as accessible to my clients as possible. We will begin with an introductory session to get to know each other and for you to ask questions and decide whether my approach is right for you. I have no set limit on the number of sessions we have together but will contract with each client accordingly.

Who do I work with?

I welcome adult clients of all backgrounds, and I will work with anyone who sincerely wishes to address their mental health. Through the years I have had the opportunity to support clients living with a wide range of mental health issues and the effects of social problems such as housing, discrimination and homeless individuals living with addictions and challenges to their mental health. I have also worked closely with abuse survivors and those experiencing suicidal thoughts.

Training, qualifications & experience

I currently hold an FDSC in Counselling Studies Level 5 through the Ulster University.

I am trained in Motivational Interviewing with Glenn Hinds Consultancy and through BHSCT

I have enhanced my training through smaller, important projects such as Community Resilience, ASCERT Mental Health First Aid and ASIST: Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training. I am also trained to OCN level 3 in Identifying Need, Safeguarding Children and vulnerable Adults and Housing Rights.

I hold Registered Member status with the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and I operate under their Ethical Framework. I am a member of NISCC.

I am fully insured, and I receive regular professional clinical supervision from a qualified BACP Accredited practitioner.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
