Christi Carson Dip. Couns. MBACP (Registered), ICC Accred., Dip. Gen.
Hi, I am a fully qualified and experienced Person-Centred therapist offering a warm, private, safe and confidential space for you to discuss issues that are causing you concern or problems. I have my own private practice situated in the Mansfield area and I understand how important it is for you to feel comfortable and safe enough to talk through difficult issues and I aim to help you do this as easily as possible.
What is Counselling?
Counselling provides an opportunity for you to share the issues and feelings that are giving you cause for concern. It can be difficult to talk to friends and family as they are sometimes too close and you may feel that you are being judged or pressured towards a particular course of action even if this is not their intension.
As a Person-Centred Counsellor I will help and support you to work through these feelings in a safe and accepting environment. You will feel listened to, accepted without judgement and together we will work to find solutions to your issues and acceptance of your thoughts and beliefs.
People choose counselling for a variety of reasons some of these can be issues with family or relationships which are especially difficult to discuss with people who are close to you. Depression and anxiety can cause you to feel isolated, alone and very low which is difficult to find a way out of on your own. Issues around anger can cause problems in all your relationships and I can help you to explore the underlying cause and help you to find ways to manage the overwhelming feelings.
I began counselling whilst managing a large team in a high pressure environment. The skills that I attained provided me with the expertise to support my team members in the most effective way for each individual, an experience that has been mutually rewarding for all concerned.
