The focus of my client work is to "walk with you" as you work though life’s difficulties. Watching your tears turn to smiles, your anxieties and depression lessen, or your isolation / barriers be removed. Seeing your self esteem grow, as you achieve the life you desire.
Hi I'm Chrissie and I am a fully qualified and insured Person-Centred Counsellor, who believes that you know yourself best and have the ability to find the answers for yourself, given professional support. By exploring your inner thoughts, feelings, emotions and experiences, and having a better understanding of them, you will be empowered to make positive changes.
As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP), I work within the guidelines of a governing body that is an accredited member of the Professional Standards Authority.
I provide a confidential, safe space where you can feel heard, understood and respected without feeling judged. I am guided by you on what you need to explore, we will work together to set the agenda for your sessions.
I have previously worked voluntarily providing counselling at Cruse bereavement care and Mosaic disability services, working with a variety of adults from diverse backgrounds, including students at college / university with wide ranging issues such isolation, discrimination, bullying, not fitting in, relationship issues, low self esteem.
I understand that living with these issues can lead to depression, anxiety and panic disorders.
I have extensive experience working with bereavement, loss and attachment issues, physical disability and a range of mental health issues.
Starting counselling can be scary. By reading my profile, you have already taken the first steps, the next step is to contact me to book an appointment.
I work on an individual basis, at a location near to the city centre, to arrange your first session please email, call or text using the details provided above. We can discuss your needs and arrange a suitable time to meet.
My room is disability friendly on the ground floor and there is on street parking close by (at a small cost, unless you hold a blue badge). For more information on my practice please visit www.laurabainescounselling.co.uk/associates
