The greatest honor for me as a counsellor is "walking with someone" as they work though life’s difficulties.
Watching their tears turn to smiles, their anxieties and depression lessen, or their isolation / barriers be removed, their self esteem grow, so they can access the life’s they desire.
I am humbled every time I hear “you’re the first person I have told this too…” or “thanks you have really helped me”.
Hi I'm Chrissie and I am a fully qualified and insured Person-Centred Counsellor, who believes that you are the only expert in your world and have the ability to find the answers for yourself. By exploring your inner thoughts, feelings, emotions and experiences, and having a better understand of them, you will be empowered to make positive changes.
As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP), I work within the guidelines of a governing body that is an accredited member of the Professional Standards Authority.
My passion is to provide a confidential, safe space where you feel heard, understood and respected without feeling judged.
I work voluntarily providing counselling at Mosaic disability services and have previously volunteered at Cruse bereavement care, as I believe providing services for people in need is important. I have worked with a variety of adults from diverse backgrounds with wide ranging issues, including students at college and university.
As a disability specialist with extensive experience working with physical disability, mental health issues, bereavement, loss and attachment issues, I understand that not everyone can physically access counselling in agencies, that is why I provide a service where you can counselling in your own home.
Living with a disability or loss can be isolating, which can lead to depression, anxiety and panic disorders. Many people with disabilities also experience bullying and discrimination which can affect your self esteem. My aim is for us to work together to explore your issues and help you have the life you desire.
I offer individual counselling on a face to face basis.
