About me

The focus of my client work is to "walk with you" as you work though life’s difficulties. Watching your tears turn to smiles, your anxieties and depression lessen, or your isolation / barriers be removed. Seeing your self esteem grow, as you achieve the life you desire.

Hi I'm Chrissie and I am a fully qualified and insured Person-Centred Counsellor, who believes that you know yourself best and have the ability to find the answers for yourself, given professional support. By exploring your inner thoughts, feelings, emotions and experiences, and having a better understanding of them, you will be empowered to make positive changes.

As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP), I work within the guidelines of a governing body that is an accredited member of the Professional Standards Authority.

I provide a confidential, safe space where you can feel heard, understood and respected without feeling judged. I am guided by you on what you need to explore, we will work together to set the agenda for your sessions.

My Experience:

I have previously worked as a counsellor at The University of Leicester helping students from a variety of backgrounds and cultures. I also volunteered as a counsellor at Cruse bereavement care and Mosaic disability service for three years.

Student counselling

I have extensive experience supporting all students throughout their time at college and university, I recognise that many students face difficulties with being away from home for the first time, and may need help dealing with changes in their living environment, missing family & friends back home, or have exam & course work pressures. Dealing with issues such as anxiety, depression, low mood, low self-esteem, low confidence can be hard when you are away from home.

Disability and loss

As a disability specialist I understand that living with a disability or loss can be isolating, which can lead to depression. Many people with disabilities also experience bullying and discrimination. My aim is for us to work together to explore your issues and help you have the life you desire.
