Hello, my name is Chris, thanks for looking at my profile.
I am an accredited and experienced, NHS and private practise Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) psychotherapist. I work with people suffering with depression and anxiety issues such as worry, Panic, OCD and PTSD.
I also work with people struggling with weight management and disordered eating from a psychological perspective. I am a qualified Psychodynamic Counsellor and have trained in Compassion Focused Therapy.
I have experience of working with military veterans, I am also a veteran myself so I understand the particular needs - please contact me to discuss this further.
I provide a warm, friendly and empathetic setting for our work together, where we work at your pace to help you with issues that are affecting your life and work.
We would normally start with an assessment session and then we can decide together what is the best course of action, only proceeding when we both agree on what is best for you. My aim is for you to feel better as soon as possible.
In your therapy sessions, we’ll use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to work to solve current problems and encourage more helpful thinking and behaviours.
CBT is a talking therapy. It has been proven to treat a wide range of emotional and physical health conditions in adults, young people and children. CBT looks at how we think about a situation and how this affects the way we act. In turn our actions can affect how we think and feel. Working together to change the clients behaviours, or their thinking patterns, or both of these.
