Chris Quirk Accredited CBT Therapist & Counsellor
My name is Chris.
Thanks for looking at my profile. I am an accredited and experienced NHS and private practise Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) psychotherapist and work with people suffering with depression and anxiety issues such as worry, Panic, OCD and PTSD.
I also work with people struggling with weight management and disordered eating from a psychological perspective.
I am also a qualified Psychodynamic Counsellor and have trained in Compassion Focused Therapy, so I provide a warm, friendly and empathetic setting for our work together.
We would normally start with an assessment session and then we can decide together what is the best course of action, only proceeding when we both agree on what is best for you.
I have experience of working with military veterans also and am a veteran myself so I understand their particular needs.
CBT is a talking therapy. It has been proven to treat a wide range of emotional and physical health conditions in adults, young people and children. CBT looks at how we think about a situation and how this affects the way we act. In turn our actions can affect how we think and feel. The therapist and client work together in changing the clients behaviours, or their thinking patterns, or both of these.
