Chris Curtis (Accred). Registered Member BACP
Hello my name is Chris, I am a Lincoln based Integrative Counsellor, this means I use several proven theories of Counselling depending on the presenting issues. This allows me to adapt my approach to help with different situations which life can throw at us.
* Has a life trauma affected your well being and you wish to have the understanding and control over it.
* Would you like to have positive strategies to cope with life events , to enable you to work towards targets and goals you wish to achieve.
* Do you have the need to understand the way in which you think and behave in certain situations.
* Do you have issues in low mood, anxiety, social situations or feel emotional pain of loss, grief or bereavement.
* Would you like to improve your self awareness and skills to enhance your well being.
Maybe you just want to talk your situation through in a safe, confidential and comfortable environment. I offer this environment from my private practice which I run from home, which is a comfortable purpose built area in which to explore your issues. My service is sensitive, non judgemental and my professional approach allows a relationship to build which can help develop and enhance your overall well being.
I feel I have an understanding nature and I am certainly driven to help others to reach their full potential. I see integrity as a big part of my character and this I am sure helps build an open and honest relationship with my clients, this atmosphere fosters a safe and trusting environment.

I see professional development as a vital part of my progress as a Counsellor and regularly involve myself in training events and seminars to enhance my knowledge and understanding in this field.
I have been working with people in crisis for over 20 years and during this time feel this has given me a greater awareness of how people deal with situations in different ways. It has raised my understanding of not only the difficulties people face but how much we all need support and guidance at certain times of our lives. I have worked as a one to one counsellor within a Hospice setting, University well-being centre, Forensic Mental Health as a staff counsellor and within private practice. Also as a lecturer at college.

Other areas of counselling I deal with
I have over 20 years experience of working with people who have witnessed crisis situations. This has enhanced my awareness and understanding of how we can all struggle with the challenges that life can bring us, and that we all may need the help and support from someone which they can trust to guide us through these difficult times.
My experience as a Counsellor has brought me a challenging mix of working on a one to one basis at my local Hospice and working alongside young Adults at my local University.
Counselling can be challenging, however this can often lead to a new outlook on life and an overall improvement in well being.
Remember....."life is not about staying indoors because it is raining, it is about going outside and enjoying getting wet."
Each Counselling session is for 60 minutes, my professional charge is £35 per session.
Home visits optional.
Counselling is unique as it allows you to meet someone you have not met before, to be able to discuss and develop a relationship in a neutral environment where you can feel listened to, supported, and free to discuss issues which can be difficult to face with others.
If you want to make a positive change to your life, enhance your well being and learn new skills you can keep for life, then I feel Counselling is for you. Lets meet up for an initial appointment, we can talk about what you hope to gain from Counselling and then decide if you feel it is right for you.
Thank you for taking time to read my profile.
Remember..... "not every day is good, but there is often good in every day "
